The representation of the values of respect and research, as central elements of the activity, finds expression not only through the fundamental principles of respect for the law, honesty and transparency, correctness and good faith, it also addresses responsibility in pursuing the objectives of sustainable development towards people and the environment.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS RESEARCH AND TRACKING

The careful attention of the Group companies towards the search for innovative materials and processes, which guarantee the highest quality standards, is directed towards those sustainable products that satisfy the requirements shared with customers. The management of sustainable materials is still running and it’s developed through a traceability system implemented by each company. The traceability system improvement will carry out the capable of following and identifying the item throughout the transformation cycle up to the finished product.

CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT 4SUSTAINABILITY PROTOCOL

The incentive of the market and the evaluation of the environmental impact of the working processes of the SNG Group pushed us to look for solutions for a more sustainable production also from the chemical point of view. Sensitivity to environmental issues and the priority aim to protect mankind and the environment, led the Group to face the subject of chemical substances toxic and harmful to health, implementing in the production cycle activities and supervisions with the aim to gradually remove the presence, by applying the guidance of the ZDHC programme (Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals). The evaluation of the chemical risk and the holistic approach allow the Group to contribute to reach some of the sustainable development objectives 2030 adopted by the United Nations (SDG’s). In view of the objectives, a management method has been identified and structured in progressive levels of implementation and focused to excellence.

PLANET 4SUSTAINABILITY PROTOCOL

The topic of fighting greenhouse gases (GHG) is increasingly current, attracting the attention of the scientific world, international institutions and civil society. The European Union has long proposed targeted interventions with the aim of mitigating GHG emissions, sharing the objective considered strategic by the scientific community of containing the increase in atmospheric temperature. The strategy adopted aims to direct European society towards a model of sustainable development and an economy with low greenhouse gas emissions.

The study was carried out with the aim of measuring the total footprint of the organization with respect to the Climate Change environmental impact category, both in terms of directly controlled emissions and indirect emissions.

The second objective is to trace and certify each production step in order to be able, at a later stage, to measure and record the related environmental impacts.

Knowing the company's processes and how consumption is distributed allows us to determine the environmental profile of the products marketed and therefore provide quantitative data on the environmental impacts and the resources necessary for its creation. Furthermore, knowing each company carbon intensity allows us to have information available to support strategic choices for identifying the best opportunities for improvement and mitigation.
